The modbus convertor interfaces with fire alarm control panel and RS 232 / RS 485 with
modbus protocol.
The modbus creates a hierarchical structure that is master & slave. the modbus protocol
enables the master device to interrogate the slave devices. It has two types of interrogates,
master & slave device with or without waiting for the slave response.

RE-90TMB covers the use of Modbus communication via an ‘Intranet’ or ‘Internet’ environment using
the TCP/IP protocols. The RE-90TMB is a device which can act as an interface between Fire Alarm Panel
and the Modbus. Its primary function is to get data from FACP and place it in Modbus format so that the
external communication/monitoring devices can understand the status of Fire Alarm Panel. TCP/IP is
simply a transport layer protocol and does not change the way data is stored or interpreted inside the
message.
